After reading Andy Andrews other books, I couldn't wait to read the Final Summit. I started reading the book and kept waiting for the story to get better, well... It never did. After centuries of greed, pride and disaster, this book is supposed to have the answer to save mankind, well you'll have to read the book to figure out what the answer is, but I was disappointed in this book after reading. So to read,'or not to read is the question!

Great devotional for schools aged kids

I have been reading this devotion to my 3 year old and I would have to say, it should be for kids who are 5 or older. It kist doesn't keep my 3 year olds attention very well. This will be a wonderful devotion when my kids get a little older. The devotion plus the scripture references should take less than 5 minutes to read, but are still meaningful and very applicable to the kids lives. Great devotional for school aged kids.

God's promises for women of Faith by Jack Countryman is a wonderful collection of scriptures on what God's word says in specific situations. It provides quick reference to scriptures on many life situations. It is a beautiful book and easy read, however, I would have liked to see some author narration throughout the book besides just scriptures. It will make a great gift book and wonderful reference.

God's Little Princess Devotional Bible - Sheila Walsh

I bought this Bible for my four year old girl. She needed something more in depth than her little simple story picture Bible, but something easier to understand than a full, literal translation. It's just right for her and the all the princess stuff is right up her alley! The notes and ideas are relevant for her and really help her to know how God's Word applies to her own life.

Max Lucado Outlive your life - GREAT BOOK!

Max Lucado really gets you thinking about how you are currently living your life and the effects each person can have on the world, each and every one of us can make a difference in the places God has put us if we choose to.

Some of the things that really got me thinking were these:

The storehouse is stocked. The problem is not supply, it's distribution. God has given us everything we need to alter the course of human suffering. When your grandchildren discover you lived during a day in which 1.75b were poor and 1b were hungry, how will they judge your response?

God longs to proclaim his greatness in all languages that exist.He loves all people groups and equips us to be his voice.If you are in Christ, god's spirit will speak through you.God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.We all live in clamshells and don't like to see people hurting, we turn a blind eye. We shut ourselves in and are afraid of threats from the outside.In an effort to do good, we can get distracted.

After reading this book, I can honestly say I can make a difference whether on a large or small scale in the place God has put me.

Max Lucado - Fearless. Is fear taking over your life?

Max Lucado has written another great book! This book states and describes the fear that so many people are feeling on a daily basis. It is so true that all of the conveniences and things that are supposed to make our life easier, ultimately end up causing fear to creep into our lives and before we know it, fear has taken over instead of God leading our lives, fear does. Max Lucado provides numerous verses of scripture to help with fear and does a wonderful job in relating our fears to our everyday lives. This book is definately one I would recommend to anyone. It gets you thinking and helps you to put your faith back into God, not yourself!

100 Bible Stories, 100 Bible Songs - My daughter loves the songs!!

My daughter absolutely loved the songs on the 2 cd's that come with the book! She is only 15 months old, so the songs entertain her more than the books with lots of words on the pages! I have read through all of the stories and can't wait till she is old enough to enjoy and understand them! While listening to the CD's I heard songs I remember learning when I was a kid and the songs are wonderfully sung and very entertaining! This book/CD set will be one to help our daughter learn about God and the wonderful things He can do in everyone's lives and she can even learn songs to go along with them!

The table of contents at the beginning of the book also shows the story, what bible verses go with the story, the corresponding song and page number, so if you are specifically looking to reference a certain part of the bible or story, Stephen Elkins has made it very easy for you to find.

The pictures, colors, and overall padded cover make this book a sure keeper in the library! You will not be disappointed in this book! I have even suggested it to other friends who are trying to find cleaver ways to teach their kids about the Bible.

Nelson's Illustrated Guide to Religions: A Comprehensive Introduction to the Religions of the World

Wow, this book has a ton of information about world religions. The book is very well written and will give you a great overview of each religion discussed. I, in particular was interested in Buddhism and after reading about it had a much better understanding of why people practice the religion and how it differs from Christianity. Each section on the different religions will depict the differences between Christianity and the different religions. I learned a lot about the different religions of the world and would recommend this book to anyone who is searching for the differences and learning about other religions.

Christianity IS in Crisis

Christianity in Crisis: The 21st Century is a must read book! There are so many preachers, teachers, and pastors out there that are not teaching what the Bible says and are leading people astray from God's word for their own benefit. There has to be something done or our world will continue to go to hell in a hand basket - quickly! I would recommend any christian to read this book to familiarize yourself with what is being taught in the mega churches out there. It is scary that there are so many followers of these mega church pastors and it is sad that they are not getting the teachings they think they are.

Andy Andrews has written a great book - The Noticer - it makes you think, cry, and it is hard to put it down! This book is a quick read and really made me look at how I look at things in my life. Your perspecctive on different things in life can be completely changed by looking at and applying the things that Andy Andrews addresses in this book. I would recommend this book to anyone and thought it was well worth the time.

Absolutely beautiful book...

Max Lucado has another fine masterpiece. This book arrived and it is in a hard cover book sleve and the quality of the craftsmanship of this book is amazing and I hadn't even opened up the book yet! Upon opening the book and starting to read it, the pictures were astonishing - so beautiful, it made me want to tear them out and put them up on the wall, but I resisted the temptation and began reading the book.

This book outlines Jesus' life and brings the stories of His miraculous years on earth to life. Along with the artwork, this book is a true gem and would be a great gift for anyone on your list, especially those who are scared of reading the Bible - this will give them the accounts of Jesus' life without necessarily reading the Bible word for word.

Great DVD to teach youngsters about the Bible

I was looking for a DVD to go along with my daughter's Beginner's Bible - and this DVD is just what I needed! There are 13 stories on the DVD - 60 minutes in length, and kept my daughter's attention. I look forward to having this in our DVD library and have her learn the stories as she grows.

I could see that older children might not like the DVD as much, but for little learners - it is excellent! I plan to get the other volumes to complete our bible DVD library.

Beautiful book, great companion CD

This is a whole new way of "reading" a book for me. Having the CD's to go along with the book, read by people you can really put the name with the face. This is an excellent way to read the Psalms and the book is absolutely beautiful and would make an excellent gift for anyone you know who enjoys the Psalms.

My daughter enjoyed listening to the CD, while following along in the book. Finally, and this is where I think this book really separates itself from other devotionals, the multimedia interaction and enhanced CD's are wonderful. This can be especially beneficial for people with exceedingly busy lives. Listening to the Psalms (I personally think this is the intended way of learning and growing in God's word) is a marvelously inspirational exercise. The authors and editors have done an awesome job of putting these works into a multisensory experience.

This would also be great to listen to in the car, but obviously not reading along with the book.

Wow, what a great book! I was expecting to read a book to use as a resource if friends or family members were going through tough times, but this book is an awesome book for anyone at any stage or circumstance in life. This book really got me thinking about my faith and what I am doing in my life and even had me in tears a few times. I would recoomend this book to anyone to read and re-read several times throughout life. Another wonderful book by Max Lucado. A+++
